Stem cell treatment research focuses on clinical application of scientific study of stem cells. Researchers can grow specific varieties of human cells in the lab and test their curative effect for specific diseases through researching how these cells behave and interact under different conditions.
Stem cells created a new concept and method in treatment of diabetes. As the most cutting-edge medical research, stem cells are thought to be the potential cure for Diabetes. In one example of diabetes stem cell research, researchers took cells from human intestine cells and disabled a gene which enabled the cells to produce insulin.

With years’ research and development, stem cell transplantation treatment has become a very important topic to understand and cure type-1 Diabetes.
In treatment of type-1 Diabetes, stem cell transplantation of insulin-producing cells should be administered to replace and repair those impaired cells due to diabetes in a diabetic patient.
However, in type-1 Diabetes, the immune system of human body would autonomously attack the beta cells, so the patient must take immunosuppressor to prevent this happening in case of decreasing the effect of stem cell treatment.
