Chinese Stephen Hawking --- Wang Jia’s Story

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a rare and progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Talented & Caring Artist
Wang Jia was 26 years old when he was taken to our Cells Center China due to severe ALS. He was an energetic, optimistic, talented and handsome boy in the eyes of his colleagues, and it’s the truth. In 2008, when he was a college student, he wrote a big Chinese character “love” on a 8 meter-long white cloth with 2 mops. When he graduate from Northeast Normal University, he came to Beijing, and successfully hired by a big state-owned enterprise among 2,000 interviewees.
With brilliant originality and industrious working, he and his works were popular with many customers. The exhibition hall of Chinese style in Frankfurt Book Fair and the design of digital hall of China Printing Museum are his representatives.
Unexpected Attack by ALS
In June of 2007, he always feel something wrong with him. He couldn’t hold a cup due to lack of strength, couldn’t sing in KTV due to slurred speech, and he would fall down when bicycling. In December, 2007, he was diagnosed as ALS.

Through stem cell treatment, Wang Jia’s condition was basically under control. Although ALS took his health away, and made him disable. June, 21st 2010 is the International ALS Day, he was dubbed Chinese Stephen Hawking. In the following day, Wang Jia received a surprise --- Stephen Hawking wrote back to him. In the letter, Hawking encouraged him”there is life, there is hope”. Yes, stem cells are always guarding his life. We, Cells Center China are proud of that so much.
As the best therapy for ALS, stem cell treatment not only saved Wang Jia’s life, but also encouraged may patients with ALS fighting with the disease and facing life with confidence and appreciation. Wang Jia is just one of many ALS patients in our center. In the past 10 years, stem cell treatment for ALS has helped many patients live well with the disease.
